Modified on Tue, 12 Aug at 11:02 AM

  • If you're having Wi-Fi issues on your laptop, here are the steps you can follow to troubleshoot and hopefully resolve the problem:

1. Check Your Wi-Fi Connection

  • Ensure Wi-Fi is turned on: Sometimes, the Wi-Fi might be turned off by accident.
  • Restart your router: If other devices aren't able to connect either, it could be a router issue. Try turning it off and on again.

2. Check for Airplane Mode

  • Ensure that Airplane mode is not turned on. You can turn it off from the Network Settings or the Action Center in Windows or press FN +

3. Reconnect to the Wi-Fi Network

  • Forget the network: Go to your Wi-Fi, select the network you're trying to connect to, and click Forget. Afterward, reconnect by selecting the network and entering the password.

4. Check Wi-Fi Settings and Troubleshoot

  • Run the Network Troubleshooter (Windows):
    • Click on the Windows icon in the taskbar.
    • Select (System è Troubleshoot Other Troubleshoot è Click Network and internet . Windows will try to detect and fix any issues automatically.

5. Update Wi-Fi Drivers (Windows)

  • Update drivers: Outdated drivers might be causing issues. To update them:
    • Press Windows + X and select Device Manager.
    • Expand Network Adapters, right-click on your Wi-Fi adapter, and choose Update Driver.
    • Select Search automatically for updated driver software.

6. Reset Network Settings

  •  Windows: Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Advanced network settings and click Network Reset.

7. Test on Another Network

  • Try connecting your laptop to a different Wi-Fi network (e.g., at a friend’s house, coffee shop, etc.). If it works, the issue may be with your home network rather than your laptop.
